From Hollywood to the boardroom. We design and build the physical environment your activation lives inside.
Approach
Built, not pulled
Custom physical environments, fabricated with 20+ years of film & TV craft.
We design and build custom physical environments for brand activations, pop-ups, product launches, conferences, and live events in Vancouver.
The Flat Factory is the fabrication shop. The same shop has been building scenic for film and TV for over 20 years, and that craft now goes into the activation floor.
We work with brands, in-house marketing teams, and the agencies and producers running the program. If you're the brand, we'll work with you directly or coordinate with your producer. If you're the agency, we're the fab shop you call when the build has to look like the rendering. We fabricate in Vancouver and can ship or install across Canada and beyond when the build calls for it.
What you get
Shopping mall pop-ups, retail kiosks, storefront takeovers, sampling environments, and festival activations. We've built for ILIA Beauty at Metrotown and at Guildford Town Centre. Each activation is a physical environment, not a branded modular kit. Real materials, integrated lighting, finishes that hold up on camera and under foot traffic.

Product-launch sets, keynote stages, sponsor environments, AGM staging. The set has specific jobs: support the speaker, frame the product, photograph for press. We build around the moment, not around a template.

Gala and awards staging, corporate parties with set-build scope, public-realm installations, experiential capture environments. When the brief is more event than booth, we shape the build around the room and how people actually move through it.

The case for custom
On a brand activation, the build is what people remember. A custom-built environment photographs like a real place. Pulled props photograph like a setup. The audience can tell, and so can the camera.
We spent 20+ years building scenic for film, TV, and commercials. Real materials, real finishes, real carpentry. That craft transfers directly to the activation floor. Same shop. The brief changes; the craft doesn't.
We work alongside agencies and producers, not in place of them. If you're an agency, we're the fabricator on the other end of the outsourcing call. If you're the brand or in-house, we'll work with your producer or directly with you. The physical environment is on us either way.
Process
01
We review the venue floorplan, brand assets, programming requirements, timeline, and budget. The build starts from the actual constraints, not around them.
02
We develop the direction, confirm materials and finishes, and give you clear review points before fabrication starts.
03
Once approved, we fabricate in our Vancouver shop. Carpentry, finishes, graphics, lighting, and AV happen in parallel where the schedule calls for it.
04
At the venue, our crew installs the build, supports run-of-show, and strikes after.
